Every year Dignity runs an event called ‘Transformation’. The event is a 3 day school in rural evangelism and discipleship. We explain what Dignity is, how our Lifegroup’s work and how to plant them. We use living examples of what has worked and what has not. They are inspirational, vibrant and effective.
To our event last year came Rozaria from Lundazi. Lundazi is right on Zambia’s eastern border with Malawi. It is 3 hours away from Chipata the regional centre and that in itself is 7 hours from Lusaka, Zambia’s capital. In other words, it is really quite remote.
One of the challenges Dignity faces is simply the sheer scale and spread of our work. People like Rozaria need support, encouragement and, with her friends, training to disciple people and help those in her community.
We make a promise to those who attend our Schools. If they can start a community group themselves, gathering people from disparate part of the community, we will turn up and train this wider group. Seeing as Rozaria has started a group in the locale of Lundazi, we are simply word bound to go there, no matter how far or how difficult it is. Believe us, it is much harder for those in an area to begin a community group!
Our work means we can support people like Rozaria and many like her.
