I came across this quote:
“It now appears that our already high rural poverty and inequality is forever marching upwards. Our human and physical infrastructure is broken and more than 70% of our people live on less than $1 a day. Our people are physically and psychologically broken. As you noted in your campaign there’s an urgent need to ‘restore our Dignity’”
From “An Open Memo to President Sata”, Lusaka Standard, 10-16 October, 2011, p.7 by Chola Mukanga
I couldn’t agree more. This says it all really. In a continent where people are physically, psychologically and dare I day it, spiritually broken, people need a saviour not a development loan.
