Displaying God’s Splendour

February 2nd, 2020 Posted by News No Comment yet

The start of the year always takes on a different pace for Dignity. Impact Teams take a month off from their regular routine of visiting and of training people to plant Life Groups. Jon and Jude Witt come back to the UK and take a month of well-deserved time off. The busyness of the previous year is set aside and space is given for rest.

This month is so important. It gives us time to pause, to reflect, to dream and to let ideas be mulled over before we launch into the coming year. It gives us time to get back to our roots and remember the important things, not just the urgent things.

We invite you to rest and reflect with us…

Please will you set aside some time (put it in your diary now!) to pause and pray these verses over Dignity, over the people we work alongside and the communities they live in.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendour.
Isaiah 61:3b

This is Dignity’s founding verse and has been a driving factor in our desire to always seek out, equip and empower those God has placed in community.

Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendour.
Isaiah 55:5

This verse was given to us by God in 2019 as we spent time shaping our 10-year vision. This verse inspired us to lean harder into our call to pioneer, to be willing to go further and to be prepared and ready to share what God has taught us with those who come to us.

Share with us…

As you pray with us please note down anything that God puts on your heart and share it with us. You can call our office on +44(0)7340 573 937 (Tuesday to Friday) or you can email us on [email protected].

The year ahead

As ever, we remain committed to bringing people to Jesus through community and by doing so, fighting poverty, in all its forms. (This includes poverty of spirit, mind, health, community, finances and environment.)

In 2020 we will go all out to pioneer, going where the church is weak, to find the people through whom God will reach the wider community and to help them work together through Life Groups…our heart is to see God’s people displaying his splendour.

We invite you to do this with us in new ways in 2020. Click on any of the images to find out more…
