Into the Farm Block

Jon, the leader of Dignity was asked as recently as yesterday, to help with the establishment of Christian teaching and community practice within farm workers in Mkushi. Over the last few months we have been visiting a number of farm workers and encouraging them to take responsibility for some of their community issues.

As part of this, we have asked our developing Central Impact Team to visit this area and also take in encouraging some of the existing village areas of Chalata, Nklonga and the Mkushi Farm Block. These are hard areas to work in. Many villagers work on local commercial farms, which restricts their time and also because of access to money, there are high levels of alcoholism, prostitution and orphans. Money breeds a kind of selfish attitude amongst some of the people.

We want to introduce the Rooted In Jesus resource and help the farm community come together in a group to study what Jesus would have them do, and then to simply do it.

Plead pray for Jon, Jude and the developing Impact Team. The work is scheduled for the week of the 24th October.
